May & June Book Haul

I have a smallish book haul for the months of May and June. I honestly can't believe that this year is already half over, it feels like we just got into 2015. Next thing we know we will be ringing in the new year! So before I go on a complete rant about that here's the books I received.

For the month of May I got 3 books and 1 of them is an ebook.

The ebook I bought and was basically given to me is Trinity Defying Destiny by Kylie Price. This is the second book following Trinity The Prophecy which I do have a review up for. Eventually when I can actually sit down long enough to read the ebook there will be a review for it, I cannot wait to read it. *give Kylie a big huge hug*

I was actually expecting this book in April but it came to me in May and I did not mind because it came to me safe and sound. I did receive it through a Goodreads first reads giveaway* The book is Racheal Awakened by Robin A. Dilks. If you haven't already I did review this book as well and it is linked as usual. There is a second book set to be released called Morrigan Blade of Grace.

This next and last book I received in May was also won through a Goodreads first reads giveaway* and it is Camael's Battle by Michele E. Gwynn. It is book one and two put together, book one is Camael's Gift. I don't know how I will review this one, if I will make it into two different reviews or one review containing the two. When I do know you guys will know as well. These two books are part of the Angelic Hosts series. There looks to be some romance, maybe some mythology, and action.

For the month of June I got 4 books. I was expecting a few more to come, depending on if they come after this is posted and how many of them do I may edit this post or I might add them to the next book haul.

The first book I got in June is A Study in Death by Ann Lee Huber. It is the fourth book in the Lady Darby Mystery series, and with that being typed I don't know how quickly I will get to this book. If I find out that there are very little spoilers from the first three books I will go ahead and read it. I don't want to accidently spoil anything for anyone. This book is a murder mystery, historical fiction, and maybe some romance too. I also got this book through a Goodreads first reads giveaway*.

The next book I received is of the erotic and BDSM genera called Never Let You Down by Joely Sue Burkhart. It is the fourth book in the Connaghers series and once again if I find that there are spoilers to the first three books it may be a while before I review it. I really want to read it but I don't want to spoil anything. Again I got this book through a Goodreads first reads giveaway*.

I also got this book from a Goodreads first reads giveaway*. It is Devil's Daughter by Hope Schenk-de Michele, Paul Marquez, and Maya Kaathryn Bohnhoff. It is the first book in Lucinda's Pawnshop possibly series, it is yet to be seen what this is going to turn into. This book is a fantasy, romance, and fiction read.

The last book I got in June I actually spent money on! Before I reveal the name of the book I want to make this clear. It's okay if you love the series. It's okay if you hate the series. It's okay if you are indifferent like me. But do not hate on someone else because of what their opinions are. If you cannot nicely state your opinion please don't. I haven't had this problem seeing as I don't have comments but still. The book I bought is Grey by E.L. James. It is the first book for the Fifty Shades of Grey series as told by Christian Grey's POV. James has already stated that there will the a Darker POV from Christian as well. I do own the FSoG trilogy and I have read them. Reviews are not up because I read them long before I started this review blog. I paid $8.76 at my Sam's Club (not including tax), it originally goes for $15.95.

March & April Book Haul

The last day of April didn't fall on Sunday but I figured I would put this one up anyways. It is going to be a smaller book haul compared to some of my other ones. Here's a funny little story (at least funny to me) for the past week when anyone asked me what month came before April I would say May. I would completely forget about the month of March, I wouldn't even put it in May's place either. Even when I typed up the title for this I first typed "May & April Book Haul" only to stop and stare at it for a few minutes not realizing why it was bugging me. Can you tell college has my brain on the fritz?

For the month of March I got 5 books.

The first book is a signed copy of Lucky Midas by Kate Palmer. I don't quite remember where exactly I entered to win this book, but I do believe it was a Facebook giveaway. It's less than 100 pages and most definitely for younger readers but it is still a cute little read.

I received another signed book but this time it is from John J. Hohn and it is his book As I Was Passing By. It is a collection of poems written by him. I have read a few now and I really enjoyed them. I won this book through another bloggers giveaway.

The next book I got is a ARC of Gena Showalter's The Closer You Come. It is the first book of her Original Heartbreakers series, the second book is not set to come out until August of this year. I won this book through a Goodreads* giveaway.

Long before I started this blog, I had already read Infinity by Sherrilyn Kenyon. I was able to get Infinity, because I joined her rewards club on her Official Sanctuary website. Once I had enough points I turned them in for it. This is the first book in Kenyon's Chronicles of Nick series, I do have a few of the other books but not all of them.

The last book I got in the month of March is an ebook called Paydown by Nick Stephenson. Anyone who entered the giveaway he was hosting in March received this book and I think a couple of others. Paydown is a novella that is a prequel to Stephenson's Leopold Blake series.

I only got 4 books in April though I was expecting another to come along. Hopefully before this goes up it will come if not, that's okay with me.

The first book I got is Easy Target by Jenny Hillborne. It is the sequel to No Alibi. I also won this book through a Goodreads* giveaway.

This second book my Mom actually picked out at our library's little book buying section. It is a large print edition of Dark Peril by Christine Feehan. It is the twenty-first book in her Carpathian series, and there are twenty-five books in that series to be exact.....wow!

This next book I picked out from my library and it is Dead Sea by Brian Keene. I don't think this is part of a series or anything that I can find. It is about a zombie apocalypse and I couldn't refrain from picking it up.

For this last book I actually got it on the last day of April. It is called Don't Close Your Eyes by Lisa McMann. Before an fans of hers freak out, no this is not a new book. All this is is the Wake trilogy all put into one. I couldn't justify spending $5-$10 on each book when they are on the smaller side, especially the last book (to me). For this huge thing a total of $8.24 was spent at my Meijer. I do have Wake, Fade, and Gone reviewed and if you click their names you can go and read my reviews.

January & February Book Haul

Whelp, technology officially hates me. This will be the second time I type up this book haul in full. So if it is on the rougher side, I apologize and I will try to get all of them worked out. I got quite a number of books this time in both January and February combined. I really like this bi-monthly book hauls, it seems to be working out well for me. So without any further ado let's get into the book haul!

In January I got 8 books, two of which where ebooks.

For those of you who remember in my November & December book haul I ranted about not being able to get the ebooks onto my Kindle app. I found some time to be able to talk with someone from Amazon and after being switched to about four different people, I was told that because I have Window's 8 I wouldn't be able to read the books. An hour later I got an email from Amazon that prompted me to download yet another Kindle app and I am now able to read the ebooks! Finally! I got Wings of Vengeance by Kylie Price, who is the same author I reviewed Trinity-The Prophecy for. And from a few months before I finally can read Sleepwalker Chronicles: The Awakening by Lilith Black.

These next two books I got notice that I had won them on the last day of December but they didn't get to me until January. Strong Like Me by Laurel Veil is the first one, and I did review it not too long ago. It came to be signed. Veil has a number of other books out that are more for middle schoolers. The second book is Visions in Silver by Anne Bishop. This is the third book in Bishop's The Others series, two more books are expected in the next two years.

Another middle school book that I won is The Underground Princess by J.W. Zulauf (whom it was signed by), and illustrated by Luke Spooner. It's small and looks to be a very good book. Zulauf has four other books out. However, Cauchemar by Alexandra Grigorescu is her debut novel and I cannot wait to read others by her. The next review to go up after this book haul will be Cauchemar. Another signed book I got was Swept Up by Kayla Dawn Thomas, which is also reviewed. This was sent to me graciously by Thomas after I notified her that I couldn't get my Kindle app to work for the ebook I was originally given. Lastly in January I won Zombie Loyalists: Using Great Service to Create Rabid Fans by Peter Shankman. Shankman has lots of business-related books published.

In February I got 8 books two of which are ebooks, the same as in January.

Starting with the ebooks again, I got Wishing on Baby Dust by Lydia Winters, it looks to be a stand-alone. I got this book by participating in a FaceBook launch party. Winters has one other book set to come out later on this year. The second ebook I got is Saffron-The Blood Swan by D. Aswini. I won this book when the author asked me to take a quiz which would then enter me to win the ebook. This is the only book by Aswini thus far.

As for physical books I got Avenger's Heat by Katie Reus. This is the fourth book in Reus's Moon Shifter series. There is one other book out for the series. I don't think I will get to reviewing this book anytime because I want to read the previous books, to avoid any spoilers. However Broken by Cynthia Eden is the first book in her Lost series or possibly trilogy. The second book in Noelle August's Boomerang series is Rebound. Another book for the series is set to be published later on this year.

These last three books I was really excited to receive. The first one which is also signed is, Utopia, Iowa by Brian Yanksky. Yansky also has five other books published. Another signed book, this one is Forgive Me by Eliza Freed. It is the first book in Freed's Lost Souls series. The last book for this book haul and for the month of February is Magic for Beginners: Stories by Kelly Link. Link has a number of other books published.

November and December Book Haul

I hope you all had a very merry December, and happy holidays everyone. 2014 is literally about to be gone, and here is 2015. Wow. This year went by reallllly quickly. Well, in the new year I wish you all the very best. This is my December book haul, which has a few books from November. I got three books in November but two of them I didn't receive till late November and early December. Which doesn't bother me at all. One package had to come very far and I am just glad that everything and every book arrived safely. If you would like to see my last book haul, it was from September.

The first book that I got is Trust No One* by Jayne Ann Krentz. It's an uncorrected proof copy. As far as I can tell it is a standalone, but Krentz has lot and lots of books out. She has quite a few pseudonyms but the one that I always run into is Amanda Quick and Jayne Castle.

The second book I got is a signed copy of Barely Bewitched* by Kimberly Frost. It is the second book in the Southern Witch series. There are a few different mythical creatures besides witches in it and I can't wait to read this. Though I may go seek out the first book just to read in order.

The last book I got in November but didn't make it to me till December (it had a long way to go!) is Trinity The Prophecy* by Kylie Price. It is also a signed copy. I think there are other books to be added to this one, and it is the first book. How many are going to come I am not sure. There will be a review up of this book, it won't be the next one but it will be the one after that. So be sure to look for it. Price also has one other book out that looks really good.

The first book I got in December is Nocturne by Syrie James. I got it at the Dollar Tree for $1, it sounded good and I thought for $1 it wasn't going to kill me. It looks to be another standalone, but James has multiple other books published.

The second book is I Belong to You by Lisa Renee Jones. I paid $11.25 ($11.93 with tax) at my local Kroger store. It is the fifth book of the Inside Out series, and I do have If I Were You and Being Me reviewed, they are the first two books. I don't think a review for this book will be up any time soon. This is a series I want to read in order and I don't have two books that follow Being Me. I don't have a way to get them either which makes me very sad. But I will eventually get them and read!

The third and final book I got this month is a ebook of The Vampire Keeper by Sabrina Street. It is the only book out by Street thus far. As I have said before I don't really feel like ebooks are really books simply because, if the electrical device decides not to cooperate you can't read your books. For example I received two other ebooks from two different authors and for some reason I can't get them to open on my app. So I can't read them. I contacted my provider and they want me to call or get on chat. I don't have time, so those two go on a back burner until I can get to them.



I could have sworn I got more books in December but I guess not. I think I might start doing bi-monthly book hauls if I get enough books. If I haven't gotten any books there won't be any mention of a haul. I have really slowed down on buying books because I have a lot of them already. I have been on break so that's why there is a steady stream of reviews up. I am still going to college so there will be times where I am not able to get up a review as often. I'm sorry, but if you stick around there will be reviews!

October Book Haul

Trick! Zom-B Mission will be up later on, but here is my small October book haul.

I only got two books this month. Both were free books given to me, from winning a giveaway on Goodreads.

The first book is an ARC of Texts From Jane Eyer And Other Conversations with Your Favorite Literary Characters* by Mallory Ortberg. I read a quick conversation and was laughing the whole time. I can't wait to read this and get a review up for everyone.

Lastly I got The Eternal Temptation* by Enrique Betancourt. It is part of The Silent Force, I'm not yet sure if it is going to be a series, duology, or trilogy. From the summary on the back it sounds like it's going to be a good one.

I know this was short, but I thought it might be good. I normally have larger posts, so here's a little switch up.

September Book Haul

In the month of September I acquired three books. I did get one book in August but it was only one book so I didn't see the point of typing up a book haul for that month when I could include it here and make this one a little bigger. If you would like to view my last book haul it was back in June.

The one book from August you guys just read a review on, it's Unseaming* by Mike Allen, and it is a paperback. As far as I know it is a stand alone, but Allen has other books published.

The next book I got is Brood by Chase Novak, this is also a paperback. There is one book before this, that goes along with the story called Breed. I did receive this for free* and it is an ARC. Chase Novak is a pseudonym for Scott Spencer.

I was also sent for free* The Witch and Other Tales Re-Told by Jean Thompson. It is a hardcover, and where as this may be a stand alone there are other books by Thompson.

The last book I got in September is The Morganville Vampires Vol. 2 by Rachel Caine. I purchased this for $1 at the dollar store. Not many people know that sometimes you can find a good book at the dollar store, you just have to look a little. This is part of Caine's Morganville Vampire series, and this version is paperback. This book includes both Midnight Alley and Feast of Fools.

Up next is a review of Love is Murder edited by Sandra Brown.

(Late) May Book Haul

So I thought I would do the whole "these are the books I got this month" blogs. If I get anything for the month, I will make a post such as this one stating what I got, if it is a hardcover or paperback, and things like that. I hope you all enjoy and like it!

As you can see from the picture above I only got 3 books in May. Two are by Sherrilyn Kenyon and the other is by Laini Taylor. All books this time around were hardcover.

Born of Shadows is the fourth book in the League series. I do have a review up for the first book. The other book by Kenyon is Illusion and it is the fifth book in the Chronicles of Nick series. I don't have any reviews up for this particular series but once I get my hands on all of the books currently out I will do that.

Lastly, Days of Blood & Starlight is the second book in the Daughter of Smoke & Bone trilogy. I do have a review up for the first book and this one as well. Of course, I will have a review up for the third and final book once I can.
